The Rostock Civic Center was opened in 1979 as a sports and convention hall. In summer of 2006, the extensive renovation of the Civic Center was carried out, including the redesign of the outside facilities as well as more comfort in the function rooms and light-flooded foyers. Dynamic colors characterize the building’s exterior. Modernisation of the technical furnishings increased the functionality of the venue. Particularly in the case of the organisation of conferences, the number of break-out rooms is often a decisive factor for the success of the event. In addition to Hall 1 with a floor space of 2000 m² (without tiers), there are 10 additional rooms varying in size from 30 to 600 m² available for events of all types. The fact that the rooms are able to be completely blacked out facilitates the use of modern conference equipment for picture projection, computer-based presentations via projector, video conferencing or video projection. The Civic Center is also equipped with certified sanitary facilities and entrances suitable for disabled persons.
The Rostock Civic Centre is a renowned venue for shows and concerts, conferences and conventions, social functions and banquets, sports events and exhibitions, ice shows and equestrian events, as well as television productions.
